Advocacy and Policy
Womankind's commitment to policy and advocacy is deeply grounded in the real-life experiences of survivors of gender-based violence. Beyond providing essential services for healing and safety, we strive for gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization. Our advocacy efforts aim to dismantle barriers to resources for survivors, empower communities and families to identify, prevent, address, and recover from violence, and address the systemic conditions that perpetuate vulnerability to abuse and exploitation.

We recognize that to fulfill our vision, we must integrate ourselves into a broader movement. To authentically represent our community's voices, we understand the importance of connecting our issues with the broader struggle for gender justice. Therefore, we actively engage in multiracial spaces that prioritize an anti-oppressive approach. Intersectionality guides every aspect of our policy and advocacy work, acknowledging how identities intersect and compound to shape power dynamics, barriers, and oppression in diverse ways.
The heart of our policy and advocacy work is to reflect, lift up, and amplify the realities of our community and the work of our advocates. Our vision is for individual experiences of trauma and healing to be embraced as collective wisdom, so that society as a whole can rise above violence.
