Womankind uses the multidimensionality of our Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. We are working tirelessly to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice. In addition to promoting healing and safety through service provision, Womankind promotes gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization.

Womankind is seeking a Clinical Consultant to provide culturally reflective clinical supervision to Womankind advocates seeking their clinical hours to sit for their respective licensure exam. Advocates at Womankind work with survivors of gender-based violence across the lifespan, their families and the surrounding communities. The Advocate is a position within Womankind that plays a crucial role in moving our mission forward by providing supportive counseling, case management and advocacy support to survivors

Womankind is seeking a Clinical Consultant who has experience and knowledge in supporting survivors of gender-based violence along their healing journey. The Consultant should address this work from an intersectional lens and have a strong understanding of how systems affects survivors of GBV. More specifically, the supervisor should have knowledge of the experiences of the AAPI/AAPIDA communities and other communities of color when navigating intersections of race, socioeconomic status, immigration status and other marginalized identities in conjunction with the survivor’s trauma history. The ideal candidate should be comfortable exploring conversations around mental wellbeing from a micro, mezzo and macro perspective that aims to deconstruct colonialist and Eurocentric mindsets around engaging in clinical work with survivors of trauma.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct one-hour weekly 1-1 supervision to up to 2-6 staff at a time seeking clinical hours for their licensure
  • Contribute to the selection process by reviewing internal staff applications requesting clinical supervision
  • Increase staff’s knowledge on culturally appropriate therapeutic interventions for survivors of gender-based violence across the lifespan and their families
  • Provide 2-3 workshops/trainings a year for Womankind’s client service team around topics specific to mental health, trauma and wellbeing etc.
  • Engage in meetings with Client Services leadership to provide feedback on any clinical trends considerations arising within supervision
  • Collaborate with Womankind’s Client Services leadership to ensure consistent and streamlined messaging regarding Womankind’s approach to working with survivors of gender-based violence

Qualifications:

  • Deep commitment to Womankind’s mission
  • Strong understanding of the AAPI community and trauma-informed work
  • Survivors of gender-based violence are encouraged to apply
  • LCSW, able to sign off on clinic hours for LMSW, MHC, ATC
  • Able to exhibit a personal responsibility and commitment to work, follow-through, and accountability
  • Ability to problem solve and exhibit a positive attitude while dealing with challenges
  • Cultural sensitivity a must
  • Humility and openness in approach to the work
  • Comfort and familiarity with computers, e-mail, and word processing
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof required

Compensation Package:

Hourly rate for this position is $100.
