Site Manager - Full Time

Reports to: Associate Director, Community Programs

Womankind works with survivors of gender-based violence to rise above trauma and build a path to healing. Since 1982, we have been bringing critical resources and deep cultural competency to help survivors of all ages find refuge, recovery, and renewal from domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence. Through our programs, we offer access to a safe place to live, counseling, legal assistance, wellness activities, and so much more. Womankind is an expert in serving Asian communities, yet our services are valuable and available to all. Whether in our services or in our increasing advocacy and policy work, Womankind first centers the survivor by uplifting them to control their own lives and narratives.

Community Programs is one among three divisions within Womankind’s Client Services Department. The other two divisions include, Special Programs and Residential and Helpline programming. This Site Manager position will be based out of our Brooklyn office. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee all services, programming, and staffing needs. This includes services across the lifespan, working to support services for children, adults and older adults. The Site Manager will support the healthy functioning of all services within the site, ensuring compliance with contract/funding requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision of 3-7 advocates and direct service staff that work out of the Brooklyn office
  • Engage in site operations work, including but not limited to supply ordering, fire safety considerations and general day-to day site management
  • Work in collaboration with Operations to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
  • Collaborate with site and program managers to ensure seamless flow of services within and across satellite sites within the organization
  • Build and maintain relationships in the Brooklyn Community with other stakeholders (non-profits, precincts, schools etc...).
  • Engage in advocacy internally and externally to support the needs of clients, and arising trends within the community Womankind serves
  • Manage a partial caseload of clients experiencing various forms of gender-based violence.

Qualifications:

  • Deep commitment to Womankind’s mission
  • Creative thinker; self-starter personality, highly preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Outstanding ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high level results.
  • Experience in managing and/or collaborating with teams
  • Ability to problem solve and exhibit a positive attitude while dealing with challenges.
  • Cultural sensitivity a must
  • Masters Degree in social work or related field highly preferred; or Bachelor degree in above fields with 2+ years direct practice with survivors of gender based violence
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and within a team structure
  • Bi-lingual English and an Asian language, Chinese or Bengali strongly preferred
  • Comfort and familiarity with computers, e-mail, and word processing
  • Must be flexible.
